Brendan Steele gets back in the swing this week on the PGA Tour in the Sony Open in Hawaii, played at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu.
Last year in this tournament, the Idyllwild native tied with Cameron Smith for first place at 269, but was defeated in a playoff leaving him in sole possession of second place.
Brendan, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, has his work cut out for him this year — he’s scored only 32 FedExCup points in this early season. But last year he picked up 300 points for his second-place finish in the Sony.
A similar finish this year — or the outright win we’re always pulling for — would launch him way up the points list.
