Brendan Steele will play this week in the $8.1-million Wells Fargo Championship at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since its inception in 2002, this tournament has averaged raising more than a million dollars for charities each year it is played.
This will be the Idyllwild native’s eighth appearance in the Wells Fargo since joining the PGA Tour in 2011. He has collected a top-10 and a top-20 in this event — a tie for 9th in 2015 and a tie for 14th a year later.
Brendan currently is 60th on the FedExCup list and 79th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
He will tee off this week on Thursday at 10:27 a.m. PDT and on Friday at 5:07 a.m. PDT, playing both days with Sung Kang and D.A. Points.
The tournament will be telecast on the Golf Channel Thursday thru Sunday, with primary CBS coverage on the weekend days. You can follow Brendan shot-for-shot in 3D with TOURCast on the pgatour.com website or with the PGA Tour cellphone app.
