Brendan Steele had up-and-down rounds in the U.S. Open last week, missing the cut by one stroke. He pulled it altogether for his last three holes scoring birdie-birdie-birdie — perhaps in preparation for this week’s tournament.
The Idyllwild native will tee it up Thursday in the $7.4-million Travelers Championship on the TPC River Highlands course in Cromwell, Connecticut. Last year’s Travelers earned more than $1.6 million for regional charities.
Brendan has played the Travelers every year since joining the PGA Tour in 2011. He’s notched a top-5, two top-10s and six top-20s at the Travelers — last year finishing tied for sixth.
He currently is 74th on the FedExCup list and 83rd in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Brendan’s tee times this week: Thursday at 4:45 a.m. PDT and Friday at 10 a.m. PDT. He’ll be playing both days with Andrew Putnam and Grayson Murray.
You can follow Brendan shot-for-shot in 3D with TOURCast on the pgatour.com website or with the PGA Tour cellphone app.
