

Hemet girls volleyball bests Temecula

The Hemet High School Cross Country running team competed in the Mt. Carmel invitational last weekend. As the race began, three Idyllwild boys — (from the left) Jayden Emerson, Tanner Torrez and Chad Schelly — started together. Running against 285 other freshman from throughout Southern California and Arizona, Torrez finished 10th, Emerson was 11th and Schelly was 91st.

Emma Klingaman raced in Big Bear last weekend at the Kenda Cup finals. She won the Category 1 15-18 womens’ field. Next week, Emma will be competing in the state championships again in Big Bear.

The Mountain Pass League track and field championships showcased many Hemet High School students, including several current and former Idyllwild residents.
