Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF cats, kittens and dog Rufus discussed pet hazards that come with Thanksgiving.

Harley: I just heard a great dog joke. Where’s Rufus? He will love it!
Pepper: Rufus is gone. He was adopted on Saturday!
Phil: That is such great news, for which he is probably very thankful.
Smokey: But did you hear that we have a new cat?
Carrie: I met her. She is amazing.
Her name is Lily, and she is so very, friendly.
Lily: (entering the room) I’m Lily! Are you talking about me?
Pepper: Hello Lily. Wow, you are beautiful!
Lily: Aw shucks, Pepper. I am a calico, and we tend to be very striking. I’m just 2 years old, and I absolutely adore humans.
Carrie: I can’t imagine you’ll be here very long before you are adopted.
Lily: I hope you are correct. I can just imagine the beauty of spending the holiday season in a home of my own.
Smokey: You’re not alone. We all feel that way, and I have to say that the ARF cattery is a cornucopia of beautiful, loving companions.
Don: Anyone who visits the ARF booth at the annual tree lighting event this Saturday can learn all about the cats looking for permanent homes.
Eeyore: I understand this event will be in the center of town, beginning at 2 p.m.
Harley: That’s right! Saturday afternoon will officially welcome the holiday season on our mountain.
