The vote was 4-0, Commissioner Jerry Buchanan was absent.

Reitz was was the Fire Chief and Emergency Services Director for the City of Sheridan, Wyoming. He was laid off from this position in February 2012 to help the city save money.

Reitz will begin in Idyllwild on Aug. 1. His salary will be $85,932.
