Storytime at the Idyllwild Library for children occurs each Monday morning at 10:30. This week, Rachel Torrey read several books for the “Spring is Here” theme. When asked what goes into planning a Storytime, Torrey laughed and said, “Well, I usually read lots of books.” There also is a craft that often follows a story and to that she had said, “There’s usually scattered construction paper around, I’m singing loudly and it looks like a circus in my house.” She has been a volunteer with Storytime, “going on eight years now” and after teaching preschool for 10 years in Los Angeles and New Jersey, she is happy she gets a chance to work with kids again.

Volunteers cleaned up piles of trash, discarded furniture and more on Saturday at the bottom of the old fire road on property owned by Idyllwild Water District. Young Idyllwild Inc. organized a cleanup and said more help will be needed to clear what has become an illegal dump. Arn Hancock of Idyllwild Clothing Co. provided the truck and trailer for hauling the trash to the dump.
