Caltrans has completed the emergency culvert repairs on Highway 243 in Idyllwild. Highway 243 is now opened in both directions northwest of Lake Fulmor, however, on Thursday, January 24 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a one-way flagging operation on Highway 243 to apply the final touches to this project.

Winter appeared to arrive last week. At least Mt. San Jacinto Peak and some higher-level elevation neighborhoods, such as upper Fern Valley, Humber Park and Pine Cove, briefly saw a few inches of snow. On Thursday, May 1, the two undefeated Mountain Pass League track teams —Hemet and San Jacinto high schools — met head-to-head before next week’s league meet.
