Sheila Eileen Lisker Klass Lenik, 78, of Idyllwild, died in Hemet Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008.

She was born in Philadelphia, Penn., on Feb. 17, 1930. Sheila was a loving mother, wife, sister and daughter. Her life was filled with creativity, love and friendship.

She spent some of the happiest years of her life here in Idyllwild. Her friends here made her life here very unique and special. Sheila was attracted to Idyllwild because it is the “Potluck Capital of the World,” and provided her with people to taste her latest recipes. She lived for the next potluck adventure.

The love and support extended by her friends allowed her to remain in Idyllwild during her health challenges this last year-and-a-half. Sheila’s family promised her that she would be able to remain in Idyllwild throughout her illness and for as long as she desired, a promise made possible by the love and support of her friends.

The family extends a special heartfelt thanks to Sheila’s caregiver, Nympha, who lovingly cared for Sheila and provided her with daily encouragement to continue her art projects. Without Nympha, Sheila would not have enjoyed such a wonderful life this last 18 months.

Sheila is survived by her sister Roxanne of Los Angeles; her daughter Kathie Klass and son-in-law Dan Rumelt of Washington, D.C.; stepchildren Deena and Rick Cohen, and Steven and Mitchell Lenik; and grandchildren Josh Cohen, and Grayson and Carrie Lenik. She was predeceased by her son, Kenny.
