Barbara Louise Jones, 75, of Idyllwild, died at home Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, from complications of diabetes.

She was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Colton, to Arthur and Bertha Jones. She was a graduate of the University of Southern California. She had also lived in Bloomington, Diamond Bar, Taft and Bakersfield.

Barbara was a physical therapist for Pomona Hospital, the Visiting Nurse Association of Orange County and the Elks Major Project. She was an innkeeper at the Wilkum Inn in Idyllwild and a proofreader for the Town Crier.

She was a director on the Idyllwild Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the former Associated Idyllwild Rentals, the California Lodging Industry Association and the Southern California Association of Innkeepers.

Per her request, no services will be held and burial will be private.

Barbara is survived by her long-time companion, Annamae Chambers of Idyllwild.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Idyllwild Arts for an Idyllwild student scholarship, P.O. Box 38, Idyllwild, CA 92549.
