Darrell “Phil” Phillips, 61, of Idyllwild, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in Escondido from stroke complications.
Mr. Phillips was born Nov. 13, 1941, in Los Angeles.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1966.
He was well-known for many years as a bartender at the Gastrognome Restaurant in Idyllwild.
His family is inviting Mr. Phillips’ friends to a celebration of his life at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at The Creek House in Fern Valley.
Burial will be private.
Mr. Phillips is survived by five sons, John of Ventura, Shay of Escondido, and Michael, Trevor and Shelly of Los Angeles; two sisters, Nancy Cutler of Phoenix and Susie Stiver of San Miguel; and seven grandchildren.
