The Idyllwild trio of runners did very well at the Yucaipa Invitational held at Yucaipa High School Saturday, Oct. 1.

The three local boys finished in the top 30 out of 147 runners.

Tanner Torrez placed first with a time of 17:06. Jayden Emerson, 10 seconds behind, was third. Chad Schelly’s time of 18:37 was worthy of 22nd place.

The freshman-sophomore team acutally had five runners finish in the first 20 and eight in the first 30.

Hemet High Golf
Idyllwild student Tyla Friemoth is a member of the girls varsity golf team, which is ranked number two. She also is the school’s athletic commissioner.
