Hill triathlete Brad Rechtfertig has suffered through an injury this fall, which has limited his training. But he was able to compete in the Fearless Triathlon at Mission Bay in San Diego on Oct. 30.

“[The race] consisted of a 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run. It was a Grand Prix-style race where each event was divided in half so it was like racing two triathlons back-to-back. In other words, a 375m swim, 10k bike and 2.5k run back-to-back with five transitions,” Rechtfertig said. “I took first in my age group (m35-39) and third overall, including elites/pros. The total number of competitors was 388 … It’s nice to have a decent race at the end of the season.”
