What an amazing privilege it is to live in Idyllwild. Not only are we cradled in the heart of nature and its magnificent beauty, we live in a community of caring, talented and truly interesting people.

In addition to these attributes, we are able to enjoy outstanding art and music from our own world-class artists and performers, as well as from students and faculty at Idyllwild Arts Academy. The recent recognition of Idyllwild Arts students at the Berklee jazz competition is just one example of the quality of the jazz program run by Marshall Hawkins and Paul Carman.

Each and every program at the school is outstanding and deserves our admiration, gratitude, and support. Congratulations especially to the students who work so hard and give so much of themselves to their art.

And congratulations to the faculty for the talent and commitment they bring forth each and every day. You help make Idyllwild a one-of-a-kind place to live.

Finally, as one who was critical of certain editorial decisions of the Town Crier, I would like to express my appreciation for the recent changes in editorial policy. I want to acknowledge all the efforts of our local paper to help make this an even better community.

I love this place.
