I cannot comment on any staff changes at Idyllwild Library as it falls under personnel issues.
I will say, however, that the kind of librarian described by the letter writer is the kind of librarian we expect at all of the libraries in the county.
A person who relates well to the “personality” of the community; a person who is excellent at implementing readers’ advisory services, and who simply has that unquantifiable touch as a community librarian.
For such a person who has this strong connection to the community and who has so many years of dedicated service, it is our recommendation that some type of celebration of her years of service takes place. We would love to be a part of that celebration.
Regardless, staffing of libraries — who comes and who leaves — is a personnel matter protected by privacy laws.
