According to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Murawski (center), at least, two occupants were traveling south on Fern Valley Rd. about 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 night when the driver appears to have lost control, hitting a tree head on.

Allegedly, the driver fled the scene on foot, however it had not been confirmed at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Idyllwild Fire transported both occupants to Desert Hospital with unknown injuries, according to IFPD Capt. Mark LaMont.
