Richard Mozeleski filed this report on local soccer action at Town Hall:

We have just finished “hump week” for this soccer season. Teams and coaches take a big breath to gather themselves for the finishing push and finish strong. The fundamentals are the same from young teams to the adults. Maintain your strong points and improve on weak areas. Coaching has been impressive throughout the youth league — proper perspective, fairness and hard work to teach all that is really important in sports is showcased nightly by these coaches. It is no wonder soccer on the hill is so healthy.

As for the adult league, wins-losses do not tell the story. From the top to the bottom of the standings, you would not be able to tell who is who watching the games. The competition is so fierce, the action so exciting regardless of the teams playing. Clean, aggressive and sometimes unbelievable collisions handled with good sportsmanship by all. A credit to these hill men and women. It was a question: Could you have adult competition self-regulated without a referee, only a time clock for games? Yes, you can. The only major problem so far, the sun. It insists on its own agenda.
