Idyllwild Garage, the third seed, won this year’s Town Hall Adult Volleyball Tournament. They defeated Idyllwild Pizza Company, the fourth seed, 3-2 in a very tight match that went the full five games.

Idyllwild Garage took early and big leads in both of the first two games, but the Pizza Company fought back only to lose both by scores of 26-24 and 25-20.

And in the third game, from the opening serve, the Pizza Company indicated they were not going to go easily. They jumped to a 9-0 lead and won 25-23. They also controlled game four for a 25-21 win.

In the fifth and final game, the Garage used the opening serve to begin building a lead. Corey Sumrall, who had several early spike attempts stopped by the net, plowed one into an empty space among the Pizza Company defenders. The enthusiasm built and resulted in a 15-10 victory and championship.

Idyllwild Garage claimed its fifth-consecutive volleyball championship. They defeated the number two seed, Idyllwild Inn, in the semi-finals earlier Saturday morning.
