Wednesday, May 13, 2015, there was a Fire Fee telephone Town Hall featuring Diane Harkey California State Board of Equalization, who discussed the status of the California Fire Prevention Fee lawsuit that seeks to recover the fees landowners of Idyllwild have paid for fire protection that they already have paid for through their fire-district taxes.

Taxes are tax-deductible, fees are not. If the suit is settled in favor of the plaintiffs, you, the resident, will get nothing unless you have filed a: “State of California Fire Prevention Fee Petition for Redetermination” with: Fire Prevention Fee Service Center, Attn: Petitions, P.O. Box 2254, Suisun City, CA 95585.

Forms may be obtained by calling 1-949-724-2578 or by email: [email protected].
