Right, Idyllwild Rotary presented headsets to be used with Chromebooks the school had previously acquired on Monday, March 14 in fourth grade teacher Tom Dillon’s classroom. Rotary presented 289 of the headsets in appreciation for Principal Matt Kraemer and the school coming to the rescue of the Harvest Festival when, due to the unexpected closing of Town Hall for asbestos reasons, the Harvest Festival was homeless. Kraemer worked quickly with Rotary and school staff to stage the festival in the Idyllwild School gymnasium. The 2015 Harvest Festival, as a result of the additional space, turned out to be one of the most successful ever. Said Rotary President Chuck Weisbart, “There is never ‘too much’ that our Rotary Club can do for our community!” Photo by Marshall Smith

Idyllwild Arts Theatre Department is performing Charles L. Mee’s “Hotel Cassiopeia” last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Rush Hall on campus. The production followed the American collage artist Joseph Cornell’s dreamlike abstract art, the theme of the play. Characters in the play are reminiscent of people Cornell knew, observed or dreamed about. Photo by Jenny Kirchner

PCT hiker Jonas from Munich, Germany arrives early in Idyllwild, asking about weather conditions on the trail. This is Jonas’ first long distance hike and only his third time in the U.S. Already dubbed “One Shot” by another hiker, Jonas was not yet sure if he would keep that moniker for his trail name.
