Last week in Days of Our Nine Lives, George was making googoo eyes at Audrey.
Bobbie : I have some big news! Everyone gather ’round!
George: Hey, Audrey, come with me to hear the news.
Mr. Gray: Audrey’s with me, George.
George: She can be with both of us. Right, Audrey?
Bobbie: Just get over here! ARF has three dogs now.
Mr. Gray: Where are they? Tell us about them.
Bobbie: Their names are Archie, Veronica, and Betty, and they’re very friendly. Archie is only a puppy, maybe ten-weeks old.
Archie: (bounding into the room) That’s right! Who wants to play? I wanna play!
Bobbie: Hey, Archie! Good to meet you. Where are Veronica and Betty?
Betty: (entering the room with Veronica) Right here. I’m Betty the Chihuahua, and this is Veronica. We’re not certain of her lineage, but we think she has min-pin in her.
Veronica: Hi! Betty forgot to tell you I’m younger than a year, and I think Betty is maybe just a little older.
Betty: You’re right, Veronica. And we’re still trying to figure out Archie’s lineage. We think he might have some terrier or bull dog in him. Who knows?
George: Regardless, you three are good- looking dogs.
Veronica: Thanks! I think Archie and I will go play now. Betty, how about you?
Betty: Sure. I like to play, but remember, you two, I’m only 6 pounds, so take it easy on me.
Veronica: Betty, I’m only 7 pounds, and so is Archie.
Bobbie: (aside to George) Hey, George, you have competition. I just saw Mr. Gray rubbing noses with Audrey. Thought you’d like to know.
George: What? All these cats, aside from Gray and me, are females. Why does he have to choose Audrey?
