Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats were trying to understand humans.

Mr. Gray

Audrey: Not to steal Bobbie’s thunder, but I have news.

George: Tell us quick, before Bobbie beats you to it.

Audrey: OK, so first off, Veronica’s trial adoption worked out, and now she has a forever family. Second, we have a new cat who has joined our family.

Bobbie

Bobbie: (Bursting into the room.) What did she tell you? What was Audrey saying?  Did she tell you the news? That’s my job!

Mr. Gray: Geez, Bobbie.  Relax.

Audrey

Audrey: Sorry, Bobbie. Why don’t you tell them about our new cat, OK?

Bobbie: Fine. Her name is Alice and she is a Siamese-mix. She is super friendly with human visitors.

Mr. Gray: Oooooh, Bobbie, she’s gonna give you a run for your money! Is she gonna out-friendly you?

George: This is going to be interesting. Bobbie or Alice?  Who’s friendlier? Place your bets now!

George

Bobbie: Very funny, George.

Alice

Mr. Gray: Well, it’s just that you’ve been the queen when it comes to charming the humans.

Audrey: Knock it off, all of you.  Here comes Alice.

Alice: Hello everyone. (Sashaying her way into the room.)  I’m Alice and yes, I’m beautiful. But don’t blame me. I can’t help it.

Bobbie: (Aside) Oh, good grief.

George: Well, hello, Alice. I love your blue eyes. Would you like to climb up into the cat tree with me?

Audrey: George!

Mr. Gray: Audrey, pay no attention to him. Come sit with me.

Audrey: I don’t know about this new addition.

Mr. Gray: Alice seems pretty nice. I say we give her a chance.

Audrey: If you say so.

Bobbie: Time will tell, and I hope all of you placed your bets on me. No one, and I mean no one, will out-friendly me.

Alice: OK, Bobbie. Whatever you say…

Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “Days of our Nine Lives” each week. And please, stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Hwy. 243, on Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 10-2, or by appointment M-F by calling 951-659-1122.

Creature Corner is sponsored by Coyote Red’s & Chena.

    Bobbie Rants

By Bobbie Glasheen I was asked to write an ethical will to leave with my descendants; to record the values that are important to me. Doggone ponderous topic. If one plans to live forever, what matters an “ethical will” or any other will and testament, come to think of it. The forest is moist and…
