Home burns in Poppet Flats, one person air lifted from scene

Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters, along with firefighters from the San Bernardino National Forest, are on scene of a fully involved structure fire with a small spot of vegetation in Poppet Flats.

The first arriving engine company reported a structure fully involved. As of 4 p.m., eight fire companies with 64 firefighters were already on the scene and assisted with air attack and a helicopters. The fire was contained by 5 p.m., about an hour after it was reported.

One person may have suffered from smoke inhalation or burns. REACH Air Ambulance flew to scene to transport the victim to local hospital.

Cal Fire, Riverside County Fire Department, Station 23 was one of the five Cal Fire companies responding to the fire. The others included 89, Banning, 20, Beaumont, 66, Beaumont City, and 22, Cherry Valley.

  1. Great coverage but you failed to mention volunteer reserve co. 63 was first engine on scene and put out the veg fire and went into defensive until other company’s arrived
