Tracy Maholland passed away at home Wednesday, March 7, 2018. She was 59 years young. Tracy was born on June 17, 1958, to Byron and Harriett Purdy in New Jersey.

Tracy was the historian of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 800 of Idyllwild for many years. She will be remembered for her pictures that she took for events at the Legion, the Idyllwild Fourth of July Parade and the children’s Halloween parades. She took great pride in winning her awards from The ALA District 21 competitions.

Tracy was very patriotic and took great pride in her husband Fred who is a Vietnam vet. She was a past member of The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 574 of Moreno Valley. She enjoyed animals, children and horseback riding. She was very avid horsewomen in her youth.

Her love, smile and laughter will be greatly missed.

Tracy is survived by her husband, Fred Maholland, of Idyllwild. They were together for 25 years and local to Idyllwild for the last 16 years. They lived in Moreno Valley and Lake Tahoe. She also is survived by her beloved Shadow, their rescue dog from Living Free, and their cat Gordon.

There will be a service for Tracy at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the American Legion Post 800 in Idyllwild, 54360 Marian View Drive.
