Editor:
I recently received a bill from Suburban Propane (Fresno) for propane refill. The amount due was $881.64. I went through the procedure for online payment, including registration and completion of credit card information.
The final payment screen showed that my amount now due was now $913.14. They added in another $31.50 for “Payment Delivery Fee.” I never knowingly agreed to any additional fee because of credit card payment.
I have been a Suburban customer for several years and believe this a heck of a way to treat customers. I have followed your series on the propane companies and do not recall any warnings as I have just experienced. Can you help straighten this out and perhaps warn subscribers to our paper of this new charge?
I paid by check this afternoon.

Last week was productive for the Snow Group. On Tuesday, we met with California State Sen. Jeff Stone at his Murrieta office. We shared with him a PowerPoint presentation, which illustrated the Hill’s snow-play visitor problems and proposed solutions. Stone and District Representative Darrell Connerton immediately understood Idyllwild’s challenges and responded favorably to our proposals….
