About 2:20 p.m., June 4, Dottie Goldfarb, 87 of Idyllwild, was involved in a traffic accident. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Murawski, Goldfarb was traveling northbound on Highway 243 near Saunders Meadow Road when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of her Toyota Prius. She hit the mountainside with the passenger side of her vehicle. Idyllwild Fire Department responded to the scene and transported her by ground ambulance to Eisenhower Medical Center with complaints of back pain. California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Darren Meyer reported that on Tuesday, June 4, at about 2:20 p.m. a blue 2014 Toyota Prius driven by Idyllwild resident Dorothia Goldfarb, 87, crashed into the mountain side on the northbound 243 about a half-mile south of lower Saunders Meadow Road. The vehicle was travelling at an unknown speed that responding officers could only estimate at 35-45 miles per hour. Goldfarb was taken by IFPD ambulance to Eisenhower Hospital in the desert with a non-life-threatening injury, and the vehicle was towed by Idyllwild Garage.
