Steele cut at Charles Schwab
In the first PGA Tour tournament after a three-month COVID-19-caused layoff, Brendan Steele had a rough go at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
He was cut after posting a 4-over-par 71-73 — 144 over the first two days. The Idyllwild native wasn’t alone. Notable players including Phil Mickelson, Ricky Fowler, John Rahm and Matt Kuchar were also cut.
Brendan boomed drives averaging 320 yards but only 32% found fairways. He hit 58% of greens in regulation but his putter wasn’t helping him vis-à-vis the rest of the field.
Steele is not listed in the field of this week’s tournament.
