Brendan Steele will be playing this week in the
$9.3-million Arnold Palmer Invitational at the Bay Hill
Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida. The Bay Hill course
features the famous 6th hole, a long par-5 dogleg left that
wraps around the Bay, hugging the water its entire length.
A win in an official PGA Tour tournament ordinarily
provides the winner with a three-year exemption on the
tour — the current year, plus two additional years. But
winning the Palmer confers a four-year exemption.
A three-time winner on the PGA Tour, Brendan has
played the Palmer tournament eight times in his 10 previous
tour years, scoring two top-20s — a tie for 20th in
2014 and a tie for 17th two years ago in 2019.
The Idyllwild native currently stands in 93rd place
on the FedExCup points list and is ranked 89th in the
world on the Official World Golf Rankings.
B will tee off Thursday at 4:55 a.m. PST and Friday at
9:35 a.m. PST. He’ll play both days with Tyler Duncan
and Danny Willett .
Watch him on the Golf Channel and NBC or follow
him shot-for-shot in TOURCast 3D on your computer or
cellphone at pgatour.com or with the PGATour app.
