Brendan Steele had a rough time of it at the Wells Fargo last week, posting an 8-over-par 72-72-70-78 — 292 and finishing tied for 70th place.
His drives averaged 305 yards, but they found only 53% of the fairways while he hit 61% of the greens in regulation. His putter was problematic, too — he averaged giving away nearly 0.75 strokes per day to the field with the flat stick.
Brendan now stands 62nd in the FedExCup Points list and 81st on the Official World Golf Ranking.
The Idyllwild native will sit out this week, but is expected to play next week in the PGA Championship, one of the four “majors” on the PGA Tour.
