Steele starts FedExCup play-offs this week

It’s the 2022 PGA Tour post-season, and this year the FedExCup Champion will be determined after three tournaments: the FedEx St. Jude Championship (played this week), next week’s BMW Championship and the Tour Championship played the week after next.

Idyllwild native Brendan Steele qualified for this week’s $15 million St. Jude, which will be played on the TPC Southwind course in Memphis, Tennessee, by placing 59th in the FedExCup Standings, in which the top 125 qualify. Following the St. Jude, players must be in the top 70 to qualify for the second post-season tournament, next week’s BMW. The top-30 players after the BMW will compete in the Tour Championship.

Brendan has already earned nearly $2.5 million in official prize money on the PGA Tour this year. His career official earnings exceed $20 million in this his twelfth year on the tour.

Brendan will tee off on Thursday at 10:22 a.m. PT and on Friday at 5:37 a.m. PT, playing with Emiliano Grillo and Harold Varner III both days.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship will be telecast Thursday and Friday on the Golf Channel, with NBC joining in on the weekend. You can follow Brendan shot-for-shot with TourCast on the pgatour.com website or with the PGA Tour cellphone app.
