Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF cats discussed Santa’s visits.

Atlas: Happy New Year everyone!

Phil: Thank you, Atlas! It’s difficult to believe that it is already 2023.

Atlas: We have a special reason to celebrate. ARF has two new dogs.

Harley: Fabulous! Are they the ones coming into the room now?

Onyx: Yes! They are Grace and her daughter Joy.

Grace: Hello ARF cats! I’m Grace, three-and-a-half years old, and this is my daughter Joy who is three years.

Grace

Onyx: Welcome to ARF! I see you’re comfortable around cats. What else can you tell us?

Joy: Hi guys! Both Mom and I are house and crate trained. We are fine with cats, and dogs are okay, too, as long as we are properly introduced.

Onyx: Doesn’t it go without saying that all dogs need to be properly introduced to each other?

Grace: Absolutely! I am very curious while Joy just loves to be near me or humans.

Pepper: I heard that you both have fairly low energy.

Joy: That is correct, and we bark only to alert.

Atlas: So both of you would like a home where someone is around a lot.

Joy

Grace: Right. And we’d really like to stay together. We keep each other company as well as making humans feel loved.

Harley: You’re both pretty small, so you won’t take up much room.

Joy: We don’t need a huge house, but we’d love to have some sort of secure yard.

Atlas: You’re both so cute.

Phil: And your foster said you’re both very friendly, sweet, and affectionate.

Grace: That says everything about us!

Be sure to keep up with the animal antics of “Days of our Nine Lives” each week. And please stop in to say hello to the entire adoptable cast at the ARF House, 26890 Highway 243. ARF is open Saturdays 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and during the week by appointment. Please call 951-659-1122.

It’s puppy love! Wrap your heart around this bundle of fur that was rescued from the streets of Idyllwild. Buster Brown is a 16-week-young boxer/pit mix. Along with puppy kisses upon request, this smart boy is already in clicker training class. His first report card is A+, as the basic commands were a piece of cake for him. He is learning leash rules, and is great with all other four-leggeds, cats and dogs.
