Idyllwild Community Center Soccer

The soccer scores for last week’s games were:

• Ages 4-6: The competition between the Idyllwild Garage Bobcats and Pino Tree Service Little Big Feet is getting tighter week by week. The final score of Thursday’s game was 1-0 Bobcats, with the single Bobcats’ goal scored by Brody Beneke. The score might have been wider apart but for the two goal stops by keeper Matthew Smith, a goal stop by keeper Luke Smith, and a goal stop by keeper Aimee O’Brien.

• Ages 7-9: This Thursday day another 4-0 win by the Idyllwild Heating & Cooling Hot Cheetos over the Ferro Yellowjackets. Two goals were scored by Bon Donovan, one was scored by Caleb Marich and one was scored by Aiden Martin on behalf of the Hot Cheetos. On the Yellowjackets side, Otis Kaufman barely missed a shot to score and Loki Chavez made several terrific keeper saves.

• Ages 10-14: The winning streak by the Village Market Monkeys continued on Thursday with a 3-1 win over the Idyllwild Brewpub Smokey Bears. The Monkeys’ goals were scored by Jason Maldonado (two goals) and Angel Herrera (one goal). Great defense players for the Monkeys included Levi Farag, Hope Farag and Tate Donovan, with Gaige Schnalzer stopping multiple goal attempts. That said, keeper Chance Griffin made several amazing goal stops, with impressive defensive moves made by Jaxx Foye, Carter Marich and Glen Mcintyre.

• Ages 4-5: Tuesday, Oct. 10, the Idyllwild Ice Cream Dragonflies played the Canopy Toys Dino Strikers. Anna Giampa had a good game for the Dragonflies with good all-around effort, while Lyra Campalong made some great passes to her teammates for the Dinmo Strikers

Thursday, Oct. 12, the Canopy Toys Dino Strikers battled the Idyllwild Ice Cream Dino Strikers. Caleb Castrejon had a goal and Evie Rogers played good defense for the Dragonflies. Woods Holgate was a major contributor for the Dino Strikers with his hustle and overhead passes.

• Ages 6-9: Tuesday, Oct. 10, the House of Grace Dragons hosted the La Casita Black Venom. This game had a lot of excitement for both teams with great scoring opportunities. Kiyoko Patterson had a good game for the Dragons with good defense, but the Black Venom’s Hunter Adams made some good passes and good dribbling as the Black Venom held off the Dragons 1-0.

Thursday, Oct. 12, the La Casita Black Venom battled the Speakeasy Gray Wolves. This game had a play-off atmosphere to it. The Gray Wolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to Elisha Citrowski’s great defensive game. However, Jameson Jones from the Black Venom has had major improvement with his defensive skills, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Gray Wolves squeezed by the Black Venom 2-1.

• Ages 10-13: The Idyllwild Backhoe Miami Mess played the Idyllwild Town Real Estate Pythons. It was an exciting game to watch as both teams battled each other. Maco Laloi had a good game for his ball possession and assist for the Miami Mess. Ruby Adams palyed a great game for the Pythons scoring a goal and great attitude as the Pythons and Miami Mess played to a 1-1 tie.

The Ferro Yellowjackets try to fight off the Idyllwild Heating & Cooling Hot Cheetos but lose 4-0.
