Scavarda and three other candidates met with the HUSD Board, Tuesday afternoon, June 4. After an hour of answering questions, mostly about their qualifications and what skills and talents they would bring to the board, Director Lisa DeForest nominated Scavarda for the approaching vacancy, Director Jim Smith seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous 6-0.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s office has charged Ron Kimmerle, 49, of Pine Cove, with four felony counts, two for burglary and two for receiving stolen property. Kimmerle remains in custody at Southwest Detention Center in Murietta pending a June 1 felony settlement conference.
