Gary Kuscher (left) and Charles “Chic” Fojtik carry a banner for the Laser Light Show displayed on Lily Rock at night on the Fourth of July. The show was in honor of Fojtik’s wife, Pamela, who loved fireworks, but died last December.

 

The Animal Rescue Friends of Idyllwild are one of the most popular groups in the parade. On the right, Clay Helgren walks two of the dogs available for adoption.

 

Idyllwild Water District Board President Dr. Charles Schelly, as Uncle Sam, enjoys the parade with his wife Leslie.

 

Mike Pauro, as Fiddlin’ Uncle Sam, serenades parade spectators with a version of “A Yankee Doodle Dandy.”

 

American Legion Post 800 held its annual open-bit barbecue on Saturday, July 1, featuring music by Mark Huston and the Workin’ Men. Fine weather helped everyone enjoy the great food while the amazing music enticed some onto the dance floor. Photo by Tom Kluzak
