The Palms to Pines Golf Association played its regular monthly tournament and final round of playoffs for club champions at Hemet Golf Club on Friday, Oct. 18. It was a beautiful fall day and the course was in good shape.
In the A Flight playoff, Bob Wadlow defended his title against Norm Kyriss to retain his club champion status for the second year in a row. He will go on to represent the club in the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) Tournament of Club Champions in December. Wadlow will again have his name inscribed the special Robert “Bob” Stearns memorial trophy.
In the B Flight playoff, Jerry Daquila also defended his title against David Hiemenz. Daquila will receive a special plaque.
In the A Flight regular tournament, Wadlow (11 handicap) shot a net 69 for first place. Gary Brown (17 handicap) shot net 71 for second place. Kyriss (7 handicap) shot net 72 for third place. Paul Cozens (12 handicap) and Tony McLean (17 handicap) shot net 73s to tie for fourth place.

The champion goes on to play in the Southern California Tournament of Club Champions in December.
Palms to Pines Golf Association plays a tournament off the Hill once a month at a different golf course. The games are usually played on the third Friday of the month but may be adjusted for holidays.
Tournament fees range from $40 to $60 and the fees include green fees, tournament entry fees, golf cart and range balls. Guests usually pay $10 less since they don’t compete in the tournament.
