BlackjackWhat a busy week for goodbyes at the ARF house. Feather, our terrier mix, has found love with her new pack. The last two “Girl Scout” kitties, Fire and Spit are snuggled in their new cattery with their forever human. And Reily, our German shepherd mix, wagged and talked her way right into her new forever hearts. Teddy Cooper, the Pomeranian will enjoy his new digs on Friday.
That leaves Blackjack, our one-year-old, male tux a bit lonely. Still loving to play, he is looking for a home with other four-leggeds — felines preferred; however, Blackjack is OK with canines, too. Blackjack minds his manners, he is not vocal, and lives to play hide and seek.
NellieAbandoned in the ARF yard, Nellie is our sweetheart papillon mix. She’s had her diva day at the groomers, so get that pretty pillow ready for this pretty girl. She’ll sing for her supper, and then snuggle in for a good nap. Nellie likes a slow walk, with rest areas in between, loves food, but most of all she likes to just flash those great eyes and make you fall in love. Unlike a diva, Nellie is willing to share her forever home with other four-leggeds. She is sure someone has a space for her and her pillow.

Last week in Days of Our Nine Lives, ARF cats and dog shared their holiday wishes for forever homes. Bobbie: Just when I come to terms with another ARF dog’s presence, she’s gone. Leia: Ha! Yeah, she was adopted last week. In addition to living with two dogs, there is a potbellied pig! I bet…
Pipen is a 6-year-old male bischon/poodle-mix. He walks well on the leash and is good with other small dogs. Not sure about the feline crowd. He is house-trained and would love to have a female companion. Not a barker. Stop by ARF or call 951-659-1122 to meet Pipen. Lefty Lou is a 10-year-young Jack Russell…
Last week in “The Days of Our Nine Lives,” Checkers the dog met the ARF cats, and was unsure about Bobbie’s meltdown. Leia: Holy moly! Everyone sit down! You are going to be so shocked when I tell you this. Bobbie: Let me guess: That last kitten, Abra, got adopted. Leia: Right! But that’s not…

Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF family members wondered why they hadn’t yet found their forever homes. Panther: Wow. I think things have stagnated. Indigo: I agree. No adoptions in the last couple of weeks. What’s up with that? Panther: I don’t know. You and I are so friendly, warming up to…
Last week in Days of Our Nine Lives, the ARF cats discussed their wishes for the new year. George: Hey Sadie, what’s wrong with you? You look a little down. Sadie: Guess I’m missing Olivia and Leia. It’s not the same here without them. Bobbie: I wonder if they are missing us. …
