Jim Crandall, Palms to Pines Golf Association handicap chair, provided this report on the Friday, April 20, golf tournament played at the Palm Desert Resort Country Club.

George Kretsinger, a co-founder of the club, joined the group and played the first nine holes. This was his first golf outing since he suffered health issues last year.

Bob Stearns (course handicap 23) came in first with a net 70. Dan Slattery (24) and Wayne Sleme (29) tied for second with net 71s. Les Widerynski (15) took fourth with a net 75, and Pete Capparelli (18), Crandall (10) and Robert Priefer (23) tied for fifth with net 76s.

Of the four closest to the pin contests on the four par 3s, Greg Piersol won on holes 4 and 16, while Crandall won on holes 6 and 12.
