Raydean E. Mahler, 74, of Irvine and Idyllwild, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001.

Mr. Mahler served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and then graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.

In 1959 he joined the family business, Surveyors Service Co. of Costa Mesa. He retired as president of the company in 1994 but continued to serve as chairman of the board.

Mr. Mahler enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and quality time with his family and friends.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at Pacific View Mortuary Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Dr., Corona del Mar. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at the mortuary.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara G. Mahler; a daughter, Constance M. Hansen (John); a son, Stanton C. Mahler (Susan); three grandchildren, Rachel Mahler, Preston Mahler and Jason Mahler; and a brother, Lee Mahler (Peggy).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hoag Hospital Foundation for Leukemia Research, P.O. Box 6100, Newport Beach, CA 92658-6100.
