Idyllwild Fire Chief Norm Walker has officially resigned effective Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011.

“He is voluntarily resigning as of 12-31-2011,” wrote Jeannine Charles-Stigall, president of the Idyllwild Fire Protection District.
The Idyllwild Fire Protection District commission approved its final 2011-12 budget this week. The overall budget balances revenues and expenditures are set at $1,687,400 each. You may have noticed an unnamed black and gold helicopter flying for 30 to 45 minutes over Idyllwild last Friday afternoon. The helicopter is leased by WaveRider Helicopters of Oceanside from November Alpha LLC.
