

Idyllwild runners place in cross country meets

At Saturday’s cross-counrty race at Mt. Carmel, the Hemet High School boys did very well. The Idyllwild contingent, all sophomores, display their medals. The runners and their places are Tanner Torrez (36), Jayden Emerson (6), Nick Browen (72) and Chad Schelly (44). Hemet was sixth overall out of 25 schools throughout Riverside and San Diego counties.


Last Thursday, Hemet High School’s track teams — mens and womens — defeated Beaumont High School. Former Idyllwild School students were significant contributors to Hemet’s victories. Idyllwild student Tyla Friemoth is a member of the girls’ varsity golf team, whose overall reord is 12 and 4. Within the Mountain Pass league, they are 7-2 and in second place. For the third consecutive year, the Hemet High School girls’ volleyball team will play in the CIF-SS semi-finals Tuesday evening, Nov. 13.
