


HHS boys finish second to Beaumont

The Hemet High School Boys’ freshman cross-country team finished first, against 14 other teams, in last week’s Mt. San Jacinto Invitational. Last Thursday, Hemet High School’s track teams — mens and womens — defeated Beaumont High School. Former Idyllwild School students were significant contributors to Hemet’s victories. In four years, the Idyllwild Middle School cross-country team has grown from 10 runners to 32, said coach Lee Arnson. Emma Klingaman raced in Big Bear last weekend at the Kenda Cup finals. She won the Category 1 15-18 womens’ field. Next week, Emma will be competing in the state championships again in Big Bear.
