Here’s what going on at the library this coming week:

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, Maria Reyes teaches her weekly Spanish language class for home-schoolers. The lessons are designed for kids, but everyone is welcome.

Also on Wednesday, from 2 to 3 p.m., Idyllwild Library’s monthly book club meets. This month’s reading choice is Carlos Ruiz Zafron’s “Shadow of the Wind.” All interested readers are welcome.

From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1, the Historical Preservation District Local Review Board meets in public.

Also on Thursday, from 1 to 2 p.m., the library staff will provide quick answers to basic computer questions. Call 951-659-2300 to schedule extended time for questions. (The library staff is always ready to help you use the library’s bank of public computers.)

From 1 to 3 p.m., also on Thursday, Julie Johnson hosts Teen Book Club for Home-schoolers. For more information, call 951-659-9793.

And again on Thursday, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., all women are welcome to join the women of the Idyllwild Bible Church for Bible Study.

From noon to 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, Inlandia Writer’s Workshop will focus on peer review writing. Bring your manuscript for informal peer discussion. Writing prompts also will be provided to take home and bring back for the next session. Contact Jean Waggoner.

Saturday, May 3, the library staff again will provide answers to basic computer questions. Call 951-659-2300 to schedule extended time.

Lastly, from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, in Unclaimed Property 101, Aaron Monroe will instruct on the most effective way to search and find unclaimed property that may be due to you or your family from federal, state or local governments.

From 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, the Friends of the Idyllwild Library hold their regular first-Monday-of-the-month meeting.

Also on Monday, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Forest Folk Cribbage Group meets for weekly fun and games. All adults are welcome.

Lastly on Monday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Miss LuAnn will host children’s story time, where preschoolers and children of all ages are entertained by our library’s talented storytellers with an associated craft. This week’s theme is Mother’s Day.

From 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, you are welcome to join the fun with the Knit Wits, an adult knitting social group. Share patterns, ideas and laughs. No knitting experience is necessary, and you are welcome to bring a snack.

And, as usual on Wednesdays, on May 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Maria Reyes offers her Spanish language class for homeschoolers — designed for children, but the whole community is welcome.

Lastly, from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, adults are invited to a program of Earthing, a fast-growing movement based on connecting to the Earth’s natural energy for vibrant health. Energy Medicine specialist Marya Allen will present a video on the movement.

Our library is regularly open Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays from noon to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
