Steele’s patience has him 5th after 2 rounds
Brendan Steele parred the first 14 holes Friday at the Barracuda in Reno before dropping an eight footer for his only birdie of the day. But at the par-5 18th, he followed a massive 374-yard drive by nestling his 210-yard approach within 12 feet of the pin, then sinking that putt for a 5-point eagle.
The native Idyllwilder goes into the weekend with 20 points, only four points — that’s two birdies — off the lead.
B tees off Saturday at 2:35 p.m.
