Daughter Victoria Steele is newest fan

Brendan Steele will once again team with Keegan Bradley in the QBE Shootout on the Tiburón Golf Club course in Naples, Florida, Dec. 6 to 10. The Shootout is a two-man unofficial PGA Tour event Brendan and Keegan teamed up to win in 2011 when it was named the Franklin Templeton Shootout.

This time the native Idyllwilder will have a new fan: Daughter Victoria Steele was born Friday, Oct. 27, 2017. She’ll be rooting her dad’s team on with the help of her mom, Anastassia.

Brendan currently stands second on the FedExCup points list for the new 2017-18 season and has moved up this week to 44th place on the Official World Golf Ranking. The OWGR is a two-year, rolling ranking, so it is possible to move up the list even without playing, which is what Brendan has done during the past week.

Brendan’s next official PGA Tour event is the $6.3 million Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii, on Jan. 4, into which he gained entry by virtue of his win in the Safeway Open at Napa last month.

    On Saturday Oct. 15, two Minor League games were played. The first game was between the Idyllwild Heating and Cooling Bobcats and the American Legion Hurricanes. The game was fast-paced as both teams went up and down the field. Colby Sonnier scored two nice goals for the Bobcats as did Rene Montoya for the Hurricanes.
    The second game pitted the Café Aroma Galaxy and the La Casita Ravens. The Galaxy played tough defense as Julia Wangler fought off the Ravens’ attack over and over. The Ravens’ Elie Manchester played a great game while hustling around the field.
