Brendan Steele managed only a 7-over-par 76-75 — 151, Thursday and Friday, missing the cut in the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club by two strokes.

The native Idyllwilder struggled with driving — he did not find one fairway on this tough, tree-lined course. Consequently, he hit no greens in regulation, either. Remarkably, he still managed to scramble for birdies or pars nearly 64 percent of the time.

Brendan will sit out this week’s tournament, but next week he’ll play in the $6.2 million Valero Texas Open at AT&T Oaks in San Antonio, Texas, which tournament was his first PGA Tour win back in 2011.
