Brendan Steele had a difficult time again this week, posting 72-73 – 145 to miss the cut by a single stroke. His drives found 64 percent of the fairways, and he hit only 56 percent of the greens in regulation. His putter wasn’t much help, costing him about 1.4 strokes against the field each day.

Brendan plays this week in the $9 million BMW Championship at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The native Idyllwilder is now ranked 51st on the FedExCup points list; he will have to do extremely well in the BMW in order to break back into the top 30 so as to advance to the Tour Championship, the final tournament of the PGA Tour season. He currently is ranked 76th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Brendan tees off Thursday at 10.09 a.m. PDT and Wednesday at 9:03 a.m. PDT, playing with Alex Noren and Beau Hossler both days.
