Take a look at the wrist delay in this swing by Brendan Steele during a practice round at the Travelers Championship last week. His hands are well into the descent on the ball, yet his wrists appear still fully cocked. Photo by André Pilon

Brendan Steele had a good show this week at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut. He posted a 6-under 71-67-68-68 — 274 for a share of 21st place.
On the week, the Native Idyllwilder’s drives averaged 294.5 yards and found 78.5 percent of the fairways, while he hit 70.8 percent of the greens in regulation and gained an average of a fifth of a stroke putting each round.
Brendan had an especially fine day with the putter on Sunday, gaining 4.5 strokes against the field while draining putts of 17 feet, two of 15 feet, 14 feet, 13 feet and two more putts of 9 feet.
Brendan currently is ranked 159th on the FedExCup points list and is 191st in the Official World Golf Ranking, but if he can produce more top-25 finishes (or better) he will move up fast on both listings.
B is playing this week in the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan. He will tee off Thursday at 4:45 a.m. PDT and Friday at 10:15 a.m. PDT playing with Kyle Stanley and Jim Herman both days.
