Brendan Steele comes off a few vacation weeks to play this week in the $7.2-million Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa Del Carmen on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.
Steele was in Idyllwild with wife Anastassia and 2-year-old daughter Victoria (“Tori”) this past weekend to attend a surprise 80th birthday party for his father Kent Steele, a retired Idyllwild attorney. Steele said he also intends to play in The RSM Classic tournament in Georgia next week. The tournament starts Nov. 21.
Steele will tee off in the Mayakoba this Thursday at 4:30 a.m. PST and Friday at 9 a.m. PST. He’ll play with Keegan Bradley and Satoshi Kodaira both days.
