Following a three-month COVID-19-induced layoff, the PGA tour is back in action with Brendan Steele playing this week in the $7.5-million Charles Schwab Challenge on the Colonial Country Club course in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Idyllwild native currently stands 40th on the FedExCup points list, and with his PGA Tour playing card for the 2020-2021 season now virtually assured, he is free to concentrate on his game without that concern. Currently, he is the 140th best golfer in the world on the Official World Golf Ranking.

Brendan says he has home-tested and is COVID-19-free. He’ll be tested again when he arrives at the tournament, where there will also be daily temperature checks.

His family will remain at home.

Brendan will tee off Thursday at 6:07 a.m. PDT. He’ll be playing with Troy Merritt and Jimmy Walker.
