Brendan Steele posted a 1-over par 68-75-71-75 — 289 on a tough Muirfield Village Course last week to tie for 13th place. Play was interrupted more than once because of threatening weather.
This marked his fourth top-20 finish in 16 PGA Tour starts this pandemic-impacted season. Three of the four were top-six finishes — two of those he finished in the top four. He finished second at the Sony Open early this year.
The Idyllwild native’s stats indicate that he played well all-around last week with drives averaging 304.5 yards finding 62.5% of the fairways, while hitting 61% of the greens in regulation and gaining 0.721 strokes on the field with the putter.
Brendan moved up to 39th on the FedExCup list and is currently ranked the 100th best player in the world on the Official World Golf Ranking.
